One vehicle for the whole family, not two cars
Booking long-distance taxis for a family of five or six on most consumer platforms means either two saloons (which separates the children from the parents on a long journey, often delivers them out of order, and almost always loses one bag), or a single MPV that quotes plausibly but turns up without the child seats you asked for.
Our long-distance family transfer is configured properly before it leaves the depot. Three isofix bases for forward-facing toddler seats, two high-back booster seats, an infant carrier base if required — whichever combination you specify when you book is what the driver collects and installs before pickup.
The default vehicle is a Mercedes Vito 8-seater for two adults plus four-to-six children including luggage, or a Ford Tourneo 8-seater for slightly more rear luggage capacity. The driver has done the installation training; you do not have to fit the seats yourself, and you do not have to bring your own.
Child-seat compliance and choice
We carry Maxi-Cosi infant carriers (0-13kg), Britax Romer forward-facing toddler seats with isofix (9-18kg), and Britax Romer high-back boosters (15-36kg / 4-12 years). You tell us how many of each you need at booking; the driver collects the right seats from our depot and installs them before pickup.
Luggage capacity for a family of five or six
A Mercedes Vito 8-seater with three rows folded leaves around 1,000 litres of boot capacity — enough for five-to-six suitcases plus a buggy plus carry-ons. The Ford Tourneo is similar with a slightly different rear-seat fold. For a family ski holiday or beach trip with a roof box, we can mount our roof box on the V-Class for additional capacity.
Long-haul comfort planning
Children handle long journeys best when stops are pre-planned, not improvised. Our family long-haul routes include a 15-minute comfort stop every two hours at services with proper family facilities (M&S food, baby-change, kids’ bathroom). Drivers know which services have a soft-play or fenced outdoor space for energy-burning.

How to book the family vehicle
Tell us how many adults, how many children and their ages, and the luggage. We will configure the right vehicle and seats.

- Specify destination and date — Pickup postcode, drop destination (airport terminal / cruise port / final address), travel date and time.
- Receive your fixed quote — One price for the whole family covering driver, fuel, tolls, ULEZ/CAZ, all child seats and all comfort stops.
- Driver allocated and briefed — Driver collects the configured child seats from our depot. Photo, name, vehicle registration and direct mobile number sent before the day.
- Door-to-door, planned stops — Driver arrives with seats already fitted, loads luggage, runs the planned route with family-suitable comfort stops every two hours.

Do you charge extra for child seats?
No. Isofix bases, forward-facing toddler seats and high-back boosters are all included in the fixed family fare. Specify the count and ages at booking and we install them before pickup.
What child seat types do you carry?
Maxi-Cosi infant carriers (0-13kg), Britax Romer forward-facing toddler seats with isofix (9-18kg), and Britax Romer high-back boosters (15-36kg / 4-12 years). All are i-Size or Group-tested and meet UK law.
How many passengers fit with luggage?
Two adults plus four-to-six children including standard family luggage (five-to-six medium suitcases plus carry-ons plus buggy). For larger groups we run two coordinated vehicles travelling in convoy.
Can you fit a roof box for a ski holiday?
Yes. Our Mercedes V-Class fleet has roof bars and we can mount a roof box for ski equipment, golf clubs, bike rack or extra luggage for a long holiday. Specify at booking so the box is fitted before pickup.
What family-suitable services do you stop at?
On the M3/M40/M6 corridor: Fleet Services (M&S, Costa, baby-change), Beaconsfield (Waitrose, kids’ outdoor area), Warwick (Lego shop, soft play). Your driver will plan two stops on long routes.
Can the booking include the return journey?
Yes. Return transfers are bookable at the same time as the outbound — either same day, next day, or end-of-trip. The same driver and seat configuration is held for the return.
